What is Stonehenge known for?

It is the best known prehistoric monument in the United Kingdom and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The stone circle was built and altered in stages from around 3000 BC. The site is managed by English Heritage.

Is Stonehenge practical to visit from London?

It is a longer day than Windsor or Oxford because of the distance. There is no railway station at the monument itself, so reaching it always involves road transport for the last part of the journey.

Are Stonehenge admission tickets included?

Stonehenge is about 140 km from Central London by road. The drive usually takes two to two and three-quarter hours each way, depending on traffic on the M3 and A303.
